About Yi Chen at The University of Hong Kong
Professor Yi Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on discovering and understanding critical security issues in systems and networks through artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, with a particular emphasis on applying natural language processing to predict vulnerabilities and design effective mitigation strategies.
Her work spans several major areas of security research, including documentation-driven security, AI-applied security, and mobile security. She has published extensively at top-tier security venues such as USENIX Security, IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (S&P), and ACM CCS, addressing problems such as vulnerability discovery from technical documents, security risks introduced by ambiguous specifications, and large-scale analysis of mobile and networked systems. Prior to joining HKU, Professor Chen was a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University Bloomington under the supervision of Professor XiaoFeng Wang. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
