About Edmund Y. Lam at The University of Hong Kong

Professor Edmund Y. Lam is a Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Hong Kong, where he also serves as Associate Dean for Innovation and Career Development in the Graduate School and Director of the Imaging Systems Laboratory. He received his B.S. (with distinction), M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His research focuses on computational imaging and optical imaging systems, including holography, computational optical sensing, biomedical imaging, and computer vision. Professor Lam’s work combines physical optics, signal processing, and computational algorithms to develop advanced imaging methodologies with applications in science, engineering, and medicine. He is actively involved in international research leadership and scholarly service, and his contributions to imaging science and engineering have been recognized through fellowships of IEEE, Optica, SPIE, IS&T, IOP, and HKIE.
