Professor Sophie Engle is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of San Francisco. Her research interests focus on data visualization and computer science education, with an emphasis on designing effective visual representations and developing inclusive, student-centered teaching practices. She is a co-founder of the Visualization and Graphics Lab (VGL) and serves on the steering committee of the Symposium on Visualization for Cyber Security (VizSec).
