About Takashi Hibiki at City University of Hong Kong

Professor Takashi Hibiki is a Chair Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong and Professor Emeritus of Purdue University. He is an internationally recognized expert in two-phase flow and thermal-hydraulics, with major contributions to multiphase flow modeling, nuclear reactor safety, and energy system analysis. He received his B.S. (with highest distinction) and Ph.D. degrees from Osaka University, Japan. Professor Hibiki has developed more than 100 constitutive equations for two-phase flow analysis and has authored hundreds of journal and conference papers, including highly cited work in the International Journal of Multiphase Flow. His research has had a lasting impact on nuclear engineering, heat transfer, and numerical simulation of complex flow systems. He has held faculty appointments at Kyoto University and Purdue University, and has served as visiting, guest, or adjunct professor at multiple leading universities worldwide. His work contributes directly to global challenges in affordable and clean energy, as well as industrial innovation and infrastructure.
