Hasti Seifi

Hasti Seifi is an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University whose research lies at the intersection of human–computer interaction, haptics, and social robotics. Her work focuses on designing and understanding interactive systems that leverage touch, vibration, and multimodal feedback to improve communication between humans and intelligent systems. A major theme of her research is haptic interaction, including the generation, perception, and interpretation of vibration signals, mid-air ultrasound feedback, and thermal cues, with applications in accessibility, extended reality, and human–AI collaboration. She has contributed to the development of generative and language-driven models for haptic design, enabling users to create and customize tactile experiences through natural language interaction.
