About Christin Sander at Harvard University (Harvard)

Christin Sander is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where she is affiliated with the A. A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. Her research focuses on advanced multimodal brain imaging, integrating positron emission tomography (PET) with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study molecular signaling and functional dynamics in the living brain. She develops novel experimental imaging techniques, quantitative biophysical and biochemical models, and dynamic signal analysis methods to map neuroreceptor function and link molecular processes to distributed brain activity. Her work aims to bridge engineering and neuroscience by translating state-of-the-art PET/MR imaging approaches into clinical applications for diagnosing and treating brain disorders. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is supported by an NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award.
