About Nir Bitansky at New York University (NYU)
Professor Nir Bitansky is a faculty member in the School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University and is currently on leave, having moved to New York University. His research interests lie broadly in the theory of computation, with a primary focus on the foundations of cryptography. His work addresses fundamental questions in secure computation, proof systems, encryption, and complexity-theoretic aspects of cryptographic constructions.
Prior to joining Tel Aviv University, Professor Bitansky was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT CSAIL, hosted by Vinod Vaikuntanathan. He received his Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Ran Canetti. He has published influential work in leading theory venues such as STOC, CRYPTO, and ITCS, and has advised Ph.D., M.Sc., and postdoctoral researchers who have gone on to academic positions worldwide.
