About Hongxia Yang at Shihezi University

Hongxia Yang is a Professor in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she also serves as Executive Director of the PolyU Academy for Artificial Intelligence (PAAI) and Associate Dean (Global Engagement) of the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. She received her PhD from Duke University and has extensive experience across both academia and industry, including senior research and leadership roles at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yahoo! Inc., Alibaba DAMO Academy, and ByteDance, where she led large language model initiatives. Her research focuses on generative AI, foundation models, reinforcement learning, and large-scale AI systems, and she has published widely in leading conferences and journals.
